I think I speak for most skate photographers by saying that sequences suck. Not that tricks that call for sequences suck by any means, in fact theres gotta be something gnarly about a trick to call for a sequence to be shot of it. But to not be able to tell the whole story with a still is disappointing to some degree. In some cases you can catch it at the right instant with a still and eliminate the need for more frames, but often then its a risk of blowing the whole thing… And for this trick by David Reyes, I wasn’t going to risk not getting the trick. I did however get a few stills before switching to the digital motor drive, and the resulting sequence of the trick ran last issue of Skateboarder as the contents spread (not shown here because of the rules of this blog). Anyways, I thought I’d throw the still up here so it could be seen. David Reyes, 50-50 to the bank. One of the craziest tricks I’ve shot in a while for sure.
