DeckStool turns old skateboards into furniture

Skaters are sentimental. Each old board like a cd, conjuring memories of places ridden, tricks learned, and years past. If this is you, or someone you know, it may be time to check out the furniture at DeckStool. Send in decks from the discard pile and recycle them into one-of-a-kind stools and benches.

Five decks and an old skateboard truck make up the $199 stool. The benches use two trucks and are available in two sizes: the two-seater is 48 inches and is priced at $699, and the 60-inch three-seat bench retails for $799.

But you don’t have to be a skateboarder to appreciate or own these unique designs. DeckStool uses broken boards it receives from skate shops and skate parks across the U.S. to create the bulk of its products. Check out: http://www.deckstool.com
