There are no less than 65 skateboarding world records recognized by Guinness World Records and they include several in the ollie* category: most ollies in one minute, most ollies in 30 seconds, most ollie 180s in one minute, the highest ollie, most frontside ollies in the halfpipe, and most ollie big spins in one minute.
One category that seems to be missing is the longest ollie.
Professional skateboarder Jordan Hoffart laid claim to that world record recently when he went 16 feet, 6 inches over fake grass laid out in a parking lot. Watch what is being hailed as the longest flat-ground ollie:
The Ride Channel, which posted the video, asked Hoffart why.
"I just liked doing that stuff when I was a kid. Still do, I guess," he told Ride. "Plus, I spent $200 on fake grass. I had to land it so you dudes would reimburse me."
*For the non-skateboarding crowd, an ollie is a maneuver in skateboarding in which the skater kicks the tail of the board down while jumping in order to make the board pop into the air, without using any hands.
