Second Annual Rob Dyrdek Foundation Benefit

SECOND ANNUAL ROB DYRDEK FOUNDATION BENEFIT TO BE HELD OCTOBER 15TH AT THE FANTASY FACTORY
DYRDEK, WILL.I.AM, DANA WHITE AND OTHER CELEBRITIES WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE

Los Angeles, CA—On October 15, 2011 the Rob Dyrdek Foundation will hold its’ 2nd annual benefit at the Fantasy Factory located in downtown Los Angeles. For only the second time, professional skateboarder, MTV personality and philanthropist Rob Dyrdek will open the doors to the world-famous Fantasy Factory for a day of fun, food and special celebrity performances, including Will.i.am and other guests. Attendees will get the chance to experience all the Fantasy Factory has to offer, from flying down the zipline to jumping in the foam pit and taking a photo with the famed celeb dogs Meaty & Beefy. Proceeds from the event will fund the Foundation’s efforts to promote the global sustainability of skateboarding through the construction of safe and legal skate plazas across the nation.

With many municipalities banning skateboarding, over 8.5 million kids are left without a place to skate. The goal of the Rob Dyrdek Foundation is to provide those kids with a safe and legal place to skate through its Safe Spot Skate Spot Program. Dyrdek conceptualized and brought the program into reality to assist with the design, development and construction of skate plazas that maintain the integrity of an urban environment and encourage skateboarding in its purest form.

Since 2009, the Rob Dyrdek Foundation has helped to identify and raise more than $3.5 million to build and open nine Safe Spot Skate Spots across the country, with many more planned. Each Safe Spot Skate Spot has been a tremendous success for the local community, but more importantly, has positively impacted the lives of the thousands of skaters that utilize them. The benefit hopes to raise more awareness about the Foundation to enable the construction of more legal skate plazas across the country for today’s youth.
