“SK8OLOGY – Where Skateboard Counter Culture Meets the World of Fine Art”

Manhattan Beach, CA. (August 27, 2008) – On August 24, 2008, ISM: A Community Project, hosted their first stop of SK8OLOGY at the Koos Art Center in Downtown Long Beach. The opening exhibit showcased over 150 creative deck canvases from some of the most poignant and significant active artists and pro skaters.

SK8OLOGY was a huge success. Over 1600 people attended and more than half of the boards received bids on the opening night. Contributing artists and skaters donated their creative work to raise awareness and resources in an effort to support Now That You Know, a non-profit organization that helps to provide a secure environment for learning and growth in developing countries for ambitious girls. Proceeds will also contribute to benefiting the youth of our society through the artistic enrichment of our community.

For those who couldn’t attend, there will be two more exhibits in September. SK8OLOGY’s next step is ASR from September 4th-6th and then Surf Expo from September 12th – 14th.
