On Monday, Swiss freeskier Elias Ambuhl set one of the more unique skiing world records when he managed to travel a blistering 81.5 miles per hour skiing switch (backward) at the Arosa ski resort in Switzerland:

For reference, Johan Clark of France set the world record for the fastest speed ever recorded by a World Cup downhill skier in competition by hitting 100.6 mph during the 2013 World Cup Lauberhorn event in Wengen, Switzerland.
The fastest speed any human has ever reached on skis is 158.4 miles per hour, and that was set by Italian speed skier Ivan Origone last year.
While the 24-year-old Ambuhl’s area of expertise isn’t exactly in speed skiing — he’s a four-time X Games bronze medalist in Ski Big Air — Ambuhl took to Instagram to show he was amused with his new world record:
