Music Mondays: Izzy Lynch With Some Tunes to Inspire

by Mike Rogge

Izzy Lynch has arrived. Last year, the Revelstoke shredder appeared in the pages of POWDER and snagged first descents with Kingfisher Heli Skiing in B.C. She even got to name, along with Josh Dueck, a bowl after their charitable foundation, Live It, Love It. Below, Izzy DJ’s your Monday.

Top Five Songs I’m Listening To At The Moment:

1. “California Sunrise” by Dirty Gold
2. “Flowers in Your Hair” by The Lumineers
3. “Oblivion” by Grimes
4. “Old Pine” by Ben Howard
5. “Man on Fire” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

The song that reminds me of skiing the most is “No Rain” by Blind Melon because when I was a kid skiing at Fortress Mountain in Alberta, the lifties would always have that album blasting at the chair. It was the nineties, they were big time!

You might be surprised to learn that I have some Ace of Bass lingering in my music library.

If I’m getting in the car to drive to Revelstoke Mountain Resort to ski, I like to listen to whatever is playing on Stoke FM.

If music rights weren’t an issue, I’d use “This Must be the Place (Naïve Melody)” by Talking Heads for a ski movie segment.

I live in Revelstoke and a local music act I’ve been listening to is Million Dollars in Pennies & Shred Kelly.

If I could only listen to one album the rest of my life, I’d listen to Van Morrison’s Moondance, because it’s timeless.
