We're deep into December and, I guess I should have anticipated this, but it's flipping cold out! Recent low temperatures across the nation led to some dicey winter weather along the East Coast and some beautiful dry powder in the Mountain West. Along with the weather came some amazing skiing and the videos to prove it. Without further ado, here's your weekly dose of ski stoke. Get after it this weekend!
Ski film company Matchstick Productions took a break from releasing ski videos this fall, choosing instead to embark on a two-year project titled "Days of Our Youth." Any initial disappointment was assuaged this week when the MSP released the trailer for their new flick. Holy. Moly. Is it fall of 2014 yet?
Here's the Lovely Brothers' lovely little edit detailing their 2012 to 2013 ski season in the mighty Tetons. We always hear that Wyoming and Idaho pitches are steep, but this short puts a whole new spin on big-mountain skiing. You really have to wonder what the life insurance policies are like for these guys.
We have no idea who the guy in this ski video is, but I think we can all agree that he might just be having the best day ever. The video was shot this week at Bridger Bowl, Montana, where a few lucky skiers enjoyed 26 inches of fresh snow to themselves—not a bad Wednesday if you ask me.
Eliel Hindert is a buttery smooth freeskier from British Columbia who had one heck of a season last year. Luckily for us he filmed most of it, and this week decided to share seven minutes with the rest of us. Want something different? Check out the mid-summer forest skiing Hindert filmed with Sweetgrass Productions (the same guys that put out the massive naked skiing segment).
And no week is complete without a crash. This week's fail comes from the icy terrain parks’ park tundra, where one film editor thought combining his buddy's crash with Miley Cyrus might be a good idea. Not sure his buddy would agree. Officially confused? Take a look and see what we're talking about.
