The adage "No friends on a powder day," quite frankly, is B.S. Powder days are infinitely more fun when shared with a friend. Thanks to the Bring a Friend Challenge, there is now even greater incentive to get those close to you on the slopes.
The challenge runs from December 1, 2013 to March 14, 2014, and offers prizes, including mountain vacations and snowboard and ski gear, to those who introduce a newcomer to snowboarding or skiing. To qualify, you need to enroll the newcomer in a ski or snowboard lesson and register at bringafriend.org, either by joining the community or submitting a separate registration form for each new participant you enroll. Certain documentation, such as the lesson receipt or voucher, is required. The full rules can be found HERE.
Prizes are awarded once a week, and include free trips to Top Notch Resort in Vermont; Park City, Canyons and Deer Valley in Utah; Hoodoo and Bachelor in Oregon; Whiteface, New York; and Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows in California. You can also win snowboards from Burton, Flow and Echelon, skis from Armada and Head, and other various products from an array of other sponsors.
Every skier and snowboarder had a first day on the hill. Most are infinitely grateful to have someone who opened their eyes to this transcendent lifestyle. With the Bring a Friend Challenge, maybe you can take something home, too.
