If you were a skier or snowboarder in the 1990s, then you probably remember the legendary limo that Smith Optics had with a rail attached to the top. It would show up at resorts and events so you could jib the limo. Here’s a refresher incase your 90s were a bit hazy.
But it wasn’t just relegated to the snow; it even served kitesurfers quite well at times and was one of the coolest pieces of branded snow feature that ever existed.
Recently, it’s resurfaced as a pro-Donald Drumpf vehicle — rail still attached. And it’s been renamed “The Trumpinator”.
It’s a bizarre day for the ski and snowboard worlds. One that sees an iconic 1990s installation become part of the 2016 presidential election. And in case you’re thinking this is Photoshopped, it’s not.
While climate change might be a bigger election issue for the snow world, it’s obvious that the end of an era comes at the hand of the election as well. Maybe a Hillary Clinton supporter will get a branded winch and jib the Trumpinator?
