Pro Ho

The winter season is quickly gaining steam. Olympic gold medalist Seth Wescott won his first Snowboard Cross World Cup of his career in Arosa, Switzerland today, and the Dew Tour is also underway - Shaun White won the Slopestyle yesterday and qualified first in the Superpipe today. GrindTV has a crew on location in Breck so we should have some behind the scenes clips and reporting for you shortly...

But, beyond the comp or filming scene, it's really fun to see the best skiers and snowboarders in the world play on their home turf, right next to you. For instance, I rode fresh pow at Squallywood this morning 5th chair up on KT (best chair in North America) for its first opening of 08-09. Who do I see today carving up the hill? I see Shane McConkey with the kids, JT Holmes, and I probably skied right next to 2-3 other pros and/or Olympians throughout the day. Now, a Pro Ho is one thing, but if you appreciate seeing the best of the best do their thing just keep your eyes open - they're right next to you. Boulder, Colorado for instance, has the highest density of Olympians in the world. If you throw a dart in the air there's a good chance it will land on an Olympian.

PS: Poor Boyz Production's ski movie "Reasons" was selected as a finalist for the 09 X-Dance Film Festival. (See photo). If you're in the Salt Lake City area from Jan. 16-20, check out the festival, so many amazing films are shown, it's an awesome time.

The ladies took a turn first. Devin Logan scored an 88.00, taking the top spot with a run that was defined by clean execution, huge amplitude and smooth grabs. She started with a straight air, followed by a left 540, flare, straight air, alley-oop 180, and left 720, ending her run with..
