Grenade Games 6: The Grande Finale

By: Lindsay Fraka

The sun set on the last shit show of a day of Grenade Games 6 on Sunday. The closing event of the madness that is GG6 was the slope contest stationed at the base area of Whistler, a prime spot for the massive and rowdy crowd to set up shop.

The guys were cruising through the course that was set up with a multi-lip booter, a 30-foot wood pole jam, and a mini hip to a picnic table jib or wall ride. The finals were going down late night style so the spectators and competitors were already feeling a little loosy-goosy....and saucy, which in turn is a perfect recipe for balls out riding and awesome times.

Craig Beaulieu, Andrew Burns, and Mark Sollars were all getting nasty (in a good way this time) and destroying the course but it was Dave Fortin who seriously closed down the night. With a buzz killer of a fall at last year's Games, this dude came back and proved that he is by no means psyched out and went for it. He showed up with a front 10 and backflip over the log jam. Everyone pretty much gave up after that run. He pocketed the $10,000 grande prize and the coveted title of Grenade Games 6 grand champ.

1st place - Dave Fortin
2nd place - Andrew Burns
3rd place - Zack Stone

Best Partier - Dustin Craven
Most Radical Dude - TJ Schneider

In other totally random news, Kael Hill lapped the slope course in nothing but a beer can and scored the "Spaced Out Award", Mark Sollar had the pole jam on lock, didn't hurt himself, and won a Camaro, the Savage Blade performance inspired some typical out of control behavior, and The End party incorporated lots of booze.

Thank you Danny Kass for another epic Grenade Games 6. We are a little bit dumber, a little bit older, and little bit cooler.

Stale Sandbech Lands Triple Under-Flip 1260

The 18-year-old stomped it off a massive kicker in Europe.

While many of us were sulking because the season is practically over, Norwegian shredder, Stale Sandbech was busy stomping a brand new trick. A video of the 18-year-old hitting a massive kicker in Europe just surfaced, and in it, Sandbech stomps a triple underflip 1260. Yeah, we didn't really think that was possible either, but this video from Stale's sponsors proves it.

After seeing the video, we had to know what was going through Sandbech's mind when he stomped the new trick...
