South Lake Tahoe, CA (AP): A family has sued a Lake Tahoe ski resort and other companies over the death of a man who fell from a chairlift at the resort.
Defendants named in the lawsuit filed Thursday in El Dorado County Superior Court include Heavenly Mountain Resort, Terra-Nova LLC and Sampson Rope Technologies.
Rebecca, Patrick and Bryan Dickson seek unspecified damages in connection with the Aug. 31 death of 51-year-old Mark Dickson.
According to the suit, he died after falling from Heavenly's Tamarack Express chairlift, which became entangled with a rope retrieval line from the resort's new ZipRider zip line ride.
The accident also seriously injured Dickson's wife of one month, 47-year-old Rebecca.
Heavenly officials declined to comment.
