Supergirl Rail Jam Hits Venice Beach

By: Lindsay Fraka

Yep. It's that time again. Time to get desperate for any sighting of snow whatsoever in Southern California. Unless you are a frequent traveler of South America...New Zealand...Canada...you are probably taking crazy pills right now. Well, if you like snowboarding that is. If you live in Los Angeles and don't like snowboarding, you are probably nuts in general.

On August 22nd, the Supergirl Rail Jam will invade Venice Beach, CA for it's fourth year running. With summer shred camps getting ready to close up shop, the obvious next step for the snowboard industry is to start putting random contests together in places where snow does not belong; prime example...the beach.

Of course, the ladies are stoked. A new rail setup will be built underneath the SoCal sun with top female riders coming from all over to get another chance to shred on US soil this summer. With femmes like Megan Ginter, Ashley Thornton, Erika Vikander, Randa Shahin, and two time champ Laura Currier showing up - the boys, er, apes at Muscle Beach won't know what to do with themselves.

So get your tanning oil and roller blades out, grease yourself up to an offensive level and cruise the Venice strand until you see an awesome rail setup, snow, excessive amounts of pink, and a larger crowd than there is around the gypsy drum circle.

While many of us were sulking because the season is practically over, Norwegian shredder, Stale Sandbech was busy stomping a brand new trick. A video of the 18-year-old hitting a massive kicker in Europe just surfaced, and in it, Sandbech stomps a triple underflip 1260. Yeah, we didn't really think that was possible either, but this video from Stale's sponsors proves it.

After seeing the video, we had to know what was going through Sandbech's mind when he stomped the new trick...
