Shaun gets his turn behind the wheel

By: Nate Hoppes

Slowly lift your foot off the clutch, give it some gas, and here we go!

If somehow you missed the major announcement from Aspen before this years Winter X Games, then this comes as a surprise to you, but Shaun White is teaming up with BFGoodrich to learn how to drive.

The slogan "learn how to drive" feels like a marketing campaign developed by a groups of suits in a conference room, but as we see in the latest episode when Shaun gets behind the wheel, he really has no clue how to drive a stick shift.

You would think it should be a prerequisite before getting behind the wheel of a 600 HP Viper, but as a mega Celebrity/Action Sports Athlete your allowed a few shortcuts. Under the tutelage of a world class drift racer and premier driving coach Sam Hubinette, Shaun has the opportunity to come away from this experience pretty good.

It's still not clear where Shaun and BFG are attempting to take this driving experience, so far no one feels confident enough to make the claim. But think about it, would it be hard to believe if in the not so distant future Shaun is winning gold medals in rally car at X Games or taking home the Lucas Oil off road championship trophy? He tends to dominate anything he tries his hand in, after all he is the Action sports version of the Golden boy.

Let's no get a head of ourselves for now, after all he still needs to learn how to get out of first gear. Here's the first and most helpful tip we can offer you Shaun; make sure you push the clutch down when you start the car and when you stop.

Good Luck Shaun.
