Kyle Mack: 14 Years-Old and Killing It

By: Lindsay Fraka

First thing's first: Kyle Mack will make you feel bad about yourself. Not because he's a mean kid or anything like that but because he's a 14-year-old who rides like a boss. The young teen got swooped up by none other than Burton Snowboards and has been climbing the exposure meter ever since. It's extremely humbling and downright intimidating when a tiny human mobs past you in the park and throws a cab 7 as Mack can.

X Games Adds Three Cities in 2013

By: Nate Hoppes

X Games' formal quest for global domination is now underway. Okay, maybe they don't want to take over the world, but their plans for expanding X Games to three more cities across the globe were announced today. Starting in 2013, X Games will be expanding to six events. Joining Los Angeles, Aspen, and Tignes will be Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, Barcelona, Spain, and Munich, Germany.

X Games organizers conducted an intense bidding process, ultimately selecting the three new cities, for a total of two winter events (Aspen and Tignes) and four summer events (Los Angeles, Foz do Iguacu, Barcelona, and Munich).

John Skipper, President of ESPN, commented, "We are bringing significant focus to this expansion because we believe in the universal appeal of these sports and competitors and want to share the X Games experience with fans around the world."

The biggest surprise from the announcement may actually be which city was not chosen. Whistler, though rumored by many to be a prime destination for Winter X Games, was not added to the lineup. Mixed reactions from some of the winter athletes have begun pouring in on Twitter:

Kelly Clark:
Whistler was the rumor. Turns out it's not happening yet, but maybe in the future.

Mike Riddle
Bummed that @xgames didn't add another winter stop at @WhistlerBlckcmb #GlobalXGames

Spencer O'Brien
Bummed @XGames expanded summer and not winter. Come on guys!

Roz Groenewoud: Very surprised #GlobalXgames isn't expanding to @WhistlerBlckcmb in 2013. Canadian X-Games would have been awesome but I still love @wssf!

Travis Rice's POV at Red Bull Supernatural

By: Heather Hendricks

The Red Bull Supernatural brought together the world's best snowboarders and set them loose on a course comprised of over 100 features throughout the powder-laden peaks of British Columbia. By combining park features and pow-shredding, the contest was easily the most progressive of the 2011-2012 season. Travis Rice conceptualized the event years ago and finally enjoyed the fruits of his labor when he rode the course in February. He also managed to take top honors in the event for his technically advanced tricks and powder prowess.

So what was it like to charge through the course? While we may never know the exact feeling, this POV footage from Travis Rice gives a glimpse of what it was like to dominate the Red Bull Supernatural.

Ms. Superpark 2012: Day Four Photos and Recap

By: Snowboarder Magazine

Recap: Laura Austin

After a diagonal downpour of rain, Thursday turned into a weather day... pushing back our last day of Ms Superpark presented by Gatorade at Squaw Valley. Thankfully our luck turned around with nothing but sunshine on Friday. Some of the riders had already left, not planning on needing the extra day, but the ones who stuck around definitely made the most out of the last day on hill.

With better conditions and visibility more of the ladies were inclined to hit the gap over the stairset that had been built on Wednesday. Desiree Melancon, Bryn Valaika, and Erin Comstock all had some good looking methods over the gap. Kelly Underwood and Desiree had a double line with Kelly getting a solid front board on the down rail while Desiree aired over her. Then Erin Comstock, Hana Beaman, and Colleen Quigley pulled off a triple line with Colleen airing over Erin and Hana while they were on the stair set.
