The 16th annual freestyle.ch Zurich was a hit despite the weather. 28.000 freestyle fans gathered at the Landiwiese to cheer on their freestyle superstars. The battle between up and coming Gjermund Br ten (NOR) and Sebastien Toutant (CAN) for victory in the snowboard final was hard fought. Both performed flawless double cork 1260s, a trick rarely seen until now at in-city Big Air events. In the end, current TTR tour leader, Gjermund Br ten, pulled of a more pristine trick execution. Finnish snowboard superstar Peetu Piiroinen finishes 3rd. Swiss hopeful, Iouri Podladtchikov, came within a fraction of getting into the final, but wasn't able to achieve the precision he had so convincingly displayed during training.
While many of us were sulking because the season is practically over, Norwegian shredder, Stale Sandbech was busy stomping a brand new trick. A video of the 18-year-old hitting a massive kicker in Europe just surfaced, and in it, Sandbech stomps a triple underflip 1260. Yeah, we didn't really think that was possible either, but this video from Stale's sponsors proves it.
After seeing the video, we had to know what was going through Sandbech's mind when he stomped the new trick...
