Nike 6.0 Buzz Aldrin Rocket Hero Mavrk Mid 2

By: Teddy Parker

Nike has done many a collaboration and you probably have somebody in mind when you think of which one you consider Nike's biggest collab. I'm sorry to say you are probably going to have to put them in the number two spot after hearing this. Nike 6.0 teamed up with history-making astronaut Buzz Aldrin to put out a very special edition of the Mavrk Mid 2s. Yes, you will feel like you are putting yourself in the shoes of the second man to walk on the moon, joining space roommate Neil Armstrong on the surface of the moon.

The all-black color scheme holds an obvious relation to the depth of space. Can you even call it depth? Space is not deep nor shallow, not here nor there... Whoa, we're getting too deep. So it is deep then! The swoosh is light on one shoe and dark on the other, which resembles the moon and the sunlight it receives. The insole is Buzz's footprint on the moon and of course Buzz signed the heel of the shoe.

Here's where it gets even more special. The images you see printed on the shoes are inspired by actual images Aldrin took while on the moon. The shoe is comfortable as it is good looking. With more padding and some ankle support from the height of the shoe, you can expect this to be hard to leave on a shelf in your bedroom. Instead you will want to cruise the boulevard with these!

The shoe is significantly light due to the cold-wrap process it undergoes. The mid-sole offers great impact absorption while the out-sole features flex grooves to promote motion so you don't feel like you're wearing bricks on your feet. Instead, your foot is working WITH the shoe to attain maximum grip and feel for whatever you're doing in these. These shoes are a hot item whether you are a sneaker freaker with shelf after shelf of unique shoe designs or you're looking for a shoe to skate in that turns heads as much as your skating does. Coming out the very beginning of the year 2010!
