HALEIWA, OAHU, HAWAII – October 29, 2008 – The 2008 Xcel Pro Presented By Honolua continues Day 2 of 3 today, as the current north swell continues to bring in sets in the 8′ to 10′ (Hawaiian) range. Tradewinds returned and should remain offshore through the day.
Conditions are similar to the slightly disorganized Sunset that was seen yesterday on Day 1, but will ideally improve through the afternoon for some cleaner rides.
The first heat of the day – Round 2 (Round of 96), Heat 11 – paddles out at 8:00 a.m. (HST).
All of today’s action will stream LIVE at xcelpro.xcelwetsuits.com with up-to-the-minute results, highlights, and much more.
Still to surf are 2007 Xcel Pro champion Joel Centeio, as well as last year’s finalists Mason Ho, Makua Rothman, and Alex Gray, plus 2006 Xcel Pro champion Evan Valiere.
With local and international competitors challenged yesterday by the sizeable but somewhat atypical Sunset day, today’s swell should provide great opportunities to take advantage of cleaner surf.
Be sure to follow all of today’s action from the 2008 Xcel Pro LIVE Webcast at xcelpro.xcelwetsuits.com.
