With a massive swell churning its way through the South Pacific, contest organizers of the Quiksilver Ceremonial in Chile have already called the contest on for Tuesday. Invitees like Greg Long, Peter Mel, Mark Healey, and local Ramon Navarro will be on hand to tackle the giant lefts at Punta de Lobos. Absent, of course, will be ASP World Tour surfers such as Kelly Slater, John John Florence, and Joel Parkinson, who will be on Tavarua to compete in the Volcom Fiji Pro. However, you may see them turn up at other future heavy water events because the ASP recently acquired the Big Wave World Tour. That means that hellmen-minded ASP stars can now compete in events at Maverick’s in northern California, Todos Santos in Baja California, and Pico Alto in Peru. Will they go?
