TransWorld SURF: Occupation?
Marielle Landi: Model, make up artist.
I’ve lived in four different countries throughout my life so it’s hard for me to choose where I consider home. I would probably have to say Bali, because my parent’s and little sister live there and that’s where I’ve lived the longest. I’ve also lived in the Philippines, Italy, and Australia. I’m half Italian and half Filipino.
Are you a surfer girl?
No, but I’d love to try. I love spending the day at the beach so learning how to surf should probably be one of my goals for this year!
Good manners, respect, fun sense of humor, hard working (I hate lazy people!), someone who takes care of himself physically and spiritually. Physically, I like nice arms, nice eyes, and someone that looks like Matthew McConaughey! Haha.
The opposites of what I mentioned above!
Tell us something about you few people know about you…
I’ve also been in a few movies. My first was “In God’s Hands”—I played the role of Shaun Tomson’s character’s daughter. The last movie I did was “Eat, Pray, Love”. I was one of the extras but the scenes we shot were deleted because Julia Roberts wasn’t happy about the extras being a lot younger than she was. She was a real diva on set!
Where would your dream trip take you?
I really want to go to Boracay in the Philippines. I lived there when I was very young but I haven’t been back since. I was planning a trip there late last year but decided to spend five weeks in Bali instead. Which was a lot of fun, so I can’t complain!
If you could go on a date with one pro surfer who would it be and why?
Hahaha! Probably Kelly Slater, because he’s number one!
Where’s your favorite beach on the your current home the Gold Coast?
I like Snapper Rocks. It doesn’t get as busy as Main Beach and last time I was there were these rock pools that people would swim in. The surf gets pretty good, too.
Can we buy you a drink at the Komune pool bar in Coolangatta when we go there in February?
Yeah definitely, I hope to be back on the Gold Coast soon so I’ll absolutely drop by!
