A few months ago, Shawn “Barney” Barron began furthering his artistic pursuits by molding girls legs out of paper mache, and then using the molds as canvases to decorate with whatever he deemed fit to grace their surfaces. The mass accumulation of colorful legs grew and grew until Barney had accumulated 10 different sets of legs, and a whole gang load of supporting paintings and photos to boot. This rapid accumulation of imagery became what is now known as the “Leg Mold Social”. Barney’s Leg Mold Social was first unveiled in Santa Cruz California, but has now made its way down to the Boathaus in Costa Mesa, where it was again unveiled to the public this past Friday night.
