Tuesday, October 12, 2004 (Bakio, Euskadi, Spain) The Billabong Pro was again postponed this morning. Round three of the Foster’s men’s ASP World Championship Tournament (WCT) remains on standby, with great surf predicted later this week. Four days are still left in the waiting period, with only two required to complete the US$260,000 event.
Mundaka had inconsistent, yet clean 2-3ft (1m) waves this morning, but the decreasing swell did not offer enough promise. Organizers drove to Bakio and reported similar conditions.
Contest director Craig Sage explained as follows; “The weather maps show great swell later this week, starting Thursday through to Saturday, so we’re just waiting for it.
