US Officials Deny Mistreatment of Koby Abberton

By: Tom Morin

KOBY
Koby has been locked up again in Hawaii. It happened last Thursday at Honolulu International Airport because of some stupid Visa issue that has to do with his recent assault conviction. Now, reports of mistreatment are coming out via his lawyer.

He is being held in solitary confinement because as the US Immigration spokeswoman said he has a "history of violence," and somehow his elbow has been dislocated. That same spokeswoman said it happened on the way from the airport to the jail when the vehicle he was in hit a bump.

Now, I've been on a lot of bumpy car rides, and never dislocated my elbow as result, granted I wasn't in handcuffs, but still. Sounds like the Boys in Blue may have gotten a little revenge on the Bra Boy, in their own way. Remember, the assault he was convicted of was on a police officer.

"Record" for Largest Wave Ever Ridden Trivializes Big-Wave Surfing

A return to old-school measuring techniques is in order

Consider two representations of two very big waves, below. The first is a photograph of Mike Parsons at Cortes Bank. The second is a video of Garrett McNamara near Nazare, Portugal. Now take out some measuring tape and make the distance of one foot between your hands. That's the amount, according to the Billabong XXL committee, that McNamara's wave is bigger than Parsons's wave.
