Creative Destruction chapter 6 (part One)

By: Janos Palko

Creative Destruction, the video-diary of aussie aerial pilot Wade Goodall, has entered it's sixth chapter. This is part one of the chapter, which chronicles a couple weeks at Wade's home of Caloundra, with Balinese/Aussie Lee Wilson joining the show just in time for a biblical flooding rain to strike Australia. There's a clip in here of Wade and co. taking a river rafting excursion in wetsuits, tennis shoes, and pool toys. Somehow, amidst the weeks of rain and mud, the two also managed to get into the ocean and punted some massive airs. Enjoy.

"Record" for Largest Wave Ever Ridden Trivializes Big-Wave Surfing

A return to old-school measuring techniques is in order

Consider two representations of two very big waves, below. The first is a photograph of Mike Parsons at Cortes Bank. The second is a video of Garrett McNamara near Nazare, Portugal. Now take out some measuring tape and make the distance of one foot between your hands. That's the amount, according to the Billabong XXL committee, that McNamara's wave is bigger than Parsons's wave.
