Creative Destruction 7: Kronks Pirate Party

By: Janos Palko

And here we have chapter 7 in the Wade Goodall Odyssey, Creative Destruction. In this installment, Wade retreats back to Australia and his home town of Caloundra, and does some surf boarding with his mates. His mates happen to be pro surfers Ryan Callinan, Shaun Cansdell, Dean Brady, and Chippa Wilson. Some incredible technical surfing by all. Wade's punt at the end, and Chippa's blowtail-backwards pump-air-reverse combo were absolutely insane.

"Record" for Largest Wave Ever Ridden Trivializes Big-Wave Surfing

A return to old-school measuring techniques is in order

Consider two representations of two very big waves, below. The first is a photograph of Mike Parsons at Cortes Bank. The second is a video of Garrett McNamara near Nazare, Portugal. Now take out some measuring tape and make the distance of one foot between your hands. That's the amount, according to the Billabong XXL committee, that McNamara's wave is bigger than Parsons's wave.
