Zeke

By: Janos Palko

This clip was just posted on SurfingMagazine, and I felt compelled to share.

It's not very often I get to post a clip from my home town, Town. I'm a townie. For those of you who are not from Oahu, the North Shore is 'Country' and the South Shore (Honolulu) is 'Town'. Zeke Lau is from Town. This clip is from Town (mostly), and Zeke is f*cking killing it. Charging big Bowls, punting some eye-brow-jumping airs, man-turns, the kid has grown up.

With a pair of 4-star wins in El Salvador and Sunset Beach last year on the WQS, Zeke's looking to have what is commonly referred to as a 'breakout year' in 2012 to make a run at qualification, and based upon his 2011 workouts I'm inclined to think he just might.

Matt Banting Wins Australian Open

Matt Banting Wins Australian Open

17 yr old aussie takes both jr and men's division

Yesterday, seventeen-year-old Australian Matt Banting won the Australian Open of Surfing for the second time.

With a flurry of fin-wafts and aerial variations, Banting was able to trump the entire field of both the pro junior and 6-star open men's divisions.

Florida's Evan Geiselman came within a hair of taking the men's title from Banting in a hotly contested final. In the end, Geiselman's 15.83 was bested by Banting's 16.83.

Banting's double-victory..
