Salt Creek Super Session

By: Janos Palko

Our good buddy Tom Morin from SME sent us this rip clip from Salt Creek and it's fresh outta the oven.

With Kolohe Andino's tour debut at Snapper Rocks just 4 weeks away, you'd think he'd be pooping his pants with nervous energy, as he should, being one of the most hyped and highly-paid rookie campaigners in a while, possibly ever.. Well, K-lo put any skid mark rumors to bed by donning a (clean) white wetsuit and tearing small Salt Creek to pieces, along with bff Evan Gieselman, and about 400 of their best buddies.

He sure doesn't look very nervous to me.

"Record" for Largest Wave Ever Ridden Trivializes Big-Wave Surfing

A return to old-school measuring techniques is in order

Consider two representations of two very big waves, below. The first is a photograph of Mike Parsons at Cortes Bank. The second is a video of Garrett McNamara near Nazare, Portugal. Now take out some measuring tape and make the distance of one foot between your hands. That's the amount, according to the Billabong XXL committee, that McNamara's wave is bigger than Parsons's wave.
