The 2005 ASP WQS season officially kicks off January 2-7 with the inaugural 3-star Globe Sebastian Inlet Pro to be held at Florida’s famed First Peak in the days preceding the semi-annual Surf Expo trade show.
The event marks the return of high-level surfing to Florida for the first time in more than a decade and will feature an expected field of 228 surfers, including WCT competitors Kelly Slater, C.J. Hobgood, Damien Hobgood, Cory Lopez, and Tim Curran.
Six days have been allocated to run the four-day-long event. The event’s awards ceremony will be be held on Friday, January 7 at the Surf Expo kick-off party in Orlando.
Most oceanfront hotels in the area were either destroyed or significantly damaged by the series of hurricanes that passed through East Florida this year. A block of 40 rooms has been held at the Radisson Oceanfront Hotel in Indialantic at a contest rate of $109.00 per night, plus tax. Rooms can comfortably sleep three people and are available on a first come, first served basis. The hotel can be reached at 321-773-9260. Mention the contest to receive this rate.

Entries are now being accepted through the ASP North America/ Surfing America office. Please be patient with entries as we are in the process of implementing a new online entry system (better than our last). This should be up and running by December 1st.
