Taj Burrow thinks highly of Wade Goodall. So much so that he included him in his book, Taj Burrow’s Book Of Hot Surfing, alongside names like Andy Irons, Kelly Slater, and Taj himself. The excerpt from the book recounts a session where the young Goodall was blasting huge airs and Supermans in front of surfing’s biggest stars. Not one to let a good talent go to waste, Taj also included the young fellow in his recent film, Fair Bits. Fair dinkum, eh?
Goodall, who was introduced to surfing by his uncle and father, was the Queensland State Champion in 1999 and 2001 in his age division. Other competition highlights include winning the Billabong Pro Teen Series event at Wombarra Beach in February over good mate Dion Agius. More recently, Goodall surfed in the Air Tahiti Nui/Von Zipper Trials at Teahupo’o in treacherous and solid eight-foot surf. While he didn’t get too far, it will definitely become a learning experience to be applied in Goodall’s bright future. For a firsthand look at Wade, check out Stepping Stones, an awesome surf flick that features the world’s best twenty-and-under surfers-a group that Goodall is firmly entrenched in.-Justin Cotà‡
