Cool Stuff To Do In SoCal This Week Other Than Getting Really Drunk

Jack Johnson is playing at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles Monday night and in Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Wednesday. Tickets aren’t easy to come by, but I saw him a couple days ago in San Diego, and he’s good live. Worth the cash.

Thomas Campbell has an art exhibit called Two Kooks And The King Of Creedle at The Surf Gallery (911 S. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach) which is located a mile or so south of Laguna’s Main Beach on the west side of the street. Pete Taras went to the opening on Saturday night and said it was definitely worth checking out. Here’s a link to The Surf Gallery’s Web site.

Also, there’s a Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit at the Museum Of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles right now. Basquiat wasn’t a surfer, he was a New York street artist who’s paintings have been very influencial on just about every artist born after 1970, whether they know it or not. If you go check the exhibit out, send me an email and tell me how it is (joel@twsnet.com). Here’s a link to MOCA’s Web site.
