Derek O’Neill Named New CEO Of Billabong International

Billabong International Limited has appointed Derek O’Neill as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 January 2003. He will continue as General Manager of Billabong’s European operations until that time.

Paul Naude, the President of Billabong’s American operations has been appointed a director of Billabong International Limited.

Matthew Perrin will leave the Company on 1 January 2003 and Gary Pemberton will revert to non-executive Chairman at that date.

Derek O’Neill was appointed as General Manager of Billabong’s European operations in 1992. He joined the Company in 1989 and prior to his current role, worked in a senior management position withBillabong’s former European licensee. He has extensive Australian and international experience in the surfwear industry. Derek has been a director of Billabong International Limited since 5 March 2002.

Paul Naude was appointed President of Billabong’s American operations in 1998 and established Billabong USA as a wholly owned activity in North America. He has been involved in the surfing industry since 1973 with extensive experience in apparel brand management.
