Puerto Rican charger Brian Toth joins DVS. Tothy had a stellar amateur career capped with a record setting three (3) titles at the 2003 NSSA Eastern Championships, winning the Explorer Juniors, Explorer Men’s and Open Men’s, a first in Regional Championship history! Tothy then made the jump to the Pro ranks and onto the WQS where he placed 3rd in last year’s 6* Mr. Price Pro in Durban, South Africa and beat 3x World Champ Andy Irons along the way which helped propel him to a career high WQS rating of 55th. After making solid progress in 2005, Tothy now has his sight set on his goal of one day being the first to represent Puerto Rico on the WCT. We’ll all be watching!
New Jersey legend, Sam Hammer also joins DVS. The Hammer is one of the most successful and most visible surfers to ever come out of New Jersey. Although Hammer focuses on getting exposure for his sponsors, he is no stranger to competition either. In 2005, the Hammer was dropped on all competitors in the North East, Sam won the Smith Garden State Grudge Match and two Atlantic City Surf Series (ACSS) events on his way to being crowned the overall ACSS Champion. We will all be seeing lots of the Hammer in 06!
