May 12, 2008: – – It is with great excitement that Oakley Africa announces Greg Emslie’s appointment as Surf Team Manager. Former ASP World Championship Tour surfer Emslie takes the reigns from Seth Hulley who is now heading up Alternative Sports for Oakley South Pacific based in Brisbane, Australia.
Seth responded by saying, “I’m super excited with Greg’s appointment; he comes with a huge amount of credibility and respect in the surf industry having not only the longest run on the ASP WCT but still holding the highest result ever for a South African. I look forward to working with him from across the ocean.”
Emslie will lead the local Oakley team whilst still competing on the ASP World Qualifying Series tour and responded with, “Oakley has always been an awesome company to be associated with professionally, so to be given the opportunity to both work and compete for the brand on the world tour is an honor. GM of Oakley, Chappy Adshade is thrilled to have him on board and said “Greg is a natural fit for Oakley; his worth ethic makes him the perfect role model for all up and coming surfers. We are stoked to have Greg share his wealth of experience with our team and give them the competitive advantage.”
