Hurley Fashion Show at Bliss in Los Angeles
The fashion show last Wednesday was a huge success. The models strutted their stuff down the runway previewing the latest Hurley fashions from the Fall 2005 line. “Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite performed along with Har Mar Superstar. Celebrities in attendance included, Efran Ramirez (Pedro) and his twin brother Carlos, Pink, Jack Osbourne, Makenzie Rosmon from 7th Heaven and Kerry Saxena (“Eli on the Discovery Channel’s ‘Discovery Kids on NBC’ “Darcy’s Wild Life). The Hurley Int. SXSW party in Austin, TX this past weekend was a great success. Standouts were “Death from Above 1979” and “Underoath”. Check out more from SXSW on Hurley.com (See photos of the party).

Story Of The Year
Story of the Year is recording their follow up to Page Ave. They are recording in Chicago and St. Louis with producer Steve Evetts. The Album is set to be released in August 2005. (See photos of SOTY in the studio) Also coming out May 10th is the Story of the Year DVD titled Live in the Lou/Bassassins. Stay tuned to Hurley.com to win a copy.
New Found Glory
New Found Glory has set out on a U.S./Canadian headline tour. The tour is called “The Back To The Basics Tour” and is featuring support from “Reggie & The Full Effect” and “Eisley”. The city of Ingleside, Texas flew out Salba along with Heidi Fitzgerald and the Gravity team for a demo and skatepark opening.
Southern hospitality was the name of the game. In Salba’s own word’s “the Texans treated us very well with all the drink, food and beer we wanted!!!!! After we were all done skating of course.
Back in cali look for the new Juice mag with a Salba Interview… A soon as his ankle heals a bit more from a severe sharkbite to the left ankle at the demo this weekend, Salba will shoot with Dave Swift for an upcoming issue of the Skateboard Magazine.
More rain means more draining with the Mosquito Bandito’s. Salba’s magnetic pool service signs, fool all those who seem to wonder why we are draining out nasty pool water from the recent rains…We are doing the community a service of trying to rid the area of west nile virus…plus we use our special brand of urethane drying process to help the environment.
Diego has been skating everyday since returning to Spain and just being able to push around and skate different spots is keeping him happy. He’s been shooting with Oliver Barton for the TWS interview and they’ve been having a lot of fun.
Kris is talking a little break to go snowboarding with his family before starting to film for 411. If you haven’t seen Kris’s part in the new Blind video “What If”, make your way to the nearest skate shop immediately.
Bob went base jumping in Utah and has been busy filming and recording for his movie.
Phil got 2nd place in the best trick contest at the Tampa Pro. He’s also been trying to finish up for his art show and film many video parts including, The Project Vid, Thrasher Part, Dango Remix, and Loving Miami.
Lincoln is packing up the wife and dog for a two week trip to Brazil. He’ll be doing some demos for the Crail 10 year anniversary !
Don Nguyen and Paul Otvos came by the Hurley offices to drop off some photos and video clips that will soon be posted on Hurley.com ! The footage is bangin ‘ too !

The boys are doing really good. Kai Barger from Maui won his quarters heat to advance straight to finals in the Open Mens as well as making it to the final for Open Jr. and Explorer Jr. Kekoa Cazimero from Oahu qualified for the Open Jr. final. Kaikea Elias a.k.a Joe Dirt from Kauai made it to the finals of Mini Groms. Makana Eleogram from Maui won his repo heat to advance to the final of Open Boys. The finals will be Tuesday at Pine Trees on Kauai.
Asher Nolan won two pro contests in one weekend. He won the Mainframe Pro in Jacksonville on Saturday, then drove down to Melbourne to win the Volcom Seacow Pro division on Sunday. All said and done, he won about a thousand dollars and qualifies for the $50K VQS in Newport Bch, CA this Spring.
Pat O Connell, Mike Todd, Yadin Nicol, Eric Taylor, Joel Centeio, Nick Kovack and Sean Moody have been making the most of less than perfect conditions in West Oz this past week. Everyone is itching for the solid swell expected at the end of this week.
After surfing around the Gold Coast area the past week, Tim Curran is off to Bells for the 2nd WCT of the season. With no swell in the forecast Tim will most likely be making the drive each day to the mobile contest site at Johanna, 3 hours away.
After a long stay in Hawaii, Rob Machado is back home in California practicing with his San Diego team for the upcoming NSL game, California Cup, which starts April 6th in Santa Cruz, CA.
The NSSA Gold Coast region held two contests this weekend at C Street in Ventura. Dillon Perillo made the most of the weekend winning one contest and coming 4th in the other.

But it got so windy that the wind blew it all away. Now they wait for more snow. In the mean time the locals are doing lots of cussing and lots of boozing.

Athina Roussel, heiress and granddaughter of the Greek tycoon, Aristotle Onassis (one time married to Jackie Kennedy), can be seen in the March 28th issue of People magazine wearing a Hurley t-shirt in the story announcing her engagement.
