Event Challenges Four Local High Schools to Produce Original Fashion Show Highlighting Hurley’s Fall ’08 Collections
Hurley’s “Walk The Walk” Fashion Show Competition has been gaining recognition across the country and is heading to Virginia Beach for the first time on April 24th.
Hurley will host local Virginia Beach high schools – Ocean Lakes, Kellam, First Colonial, and Cox — in a friendly fashion show event that puts the styling, makeup, production, and marketing in the hands of the students. Dedicated to inspiring creativity and confidence among its diverse audience, Hurley’s “Walk The Walk” flips the traditional fashion show model, giving participants total artistic control backstageto interpret Hurley fashion, while stylists and designers look on from the crowd.
Each school is provided with the same pieces from the Hurley Fall 2008 men’s, young contemporary and swim collections to present a five minute fashion show. The participants are responsible for styling the outfits, creating an overall theme, providing models, and overseeing hair, makeup, accessories, and shoes. They are also responsible for managing production, music selection and event promotion. All schools will be judged on a ten point scale based on overall vibe, crowd support, flow, creativity, energy, styling, school spirit, promotional strategy and illustration of Hurley’s brand message.
The winning school will receive a $5,000 donation to its fashion marketing program – and, of course, bragging rights!
Visit www.Hurley.com for more info and check out the blogs from the students!
