SAN DIEGO, CA (October 1st, 2011). SUN DIEGO BOARDSHOPS will be hosting a live art show and autograph signing with ROXY and Keep-A-Breast (KAB) Foundation this Saturday at their new Fashion Valley Location to start off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There will be a live art show featuring special guest Jen Smith, World’s #1 Women’s Longboarder, San Diego native, and a prestigious artist. Keep A Breast will be donating a breast cast as a blank canvas for Jen to paint and then later it will be displayed in our store for the entire month of October. In addition, Sun Diego Boardshops will be donating an additional 25% of sales of any Keep A Breast product back to KAB during the month of October.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. As well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, NBCAM is also an opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.
