VNU Sports Group today announced the hiring of Kevin Flanagan as Group Trade Show Director for the ASR Trade Expos. As show director, Flanagan be responsible for the long-term success and development of ASR products, reporting directly to VNU Sports Group President David Loechner.
“Kevin’s professional background with leading action sports manufacturers and media players make him a perfect fit,” says Loechner. “He understands the issues facing manufacturers, retailers and distributors through direct experience.”
“In addition to a broad knowledge of the industry, he also brings with him the relationships necessary to manage and grow a trade event like this,” adds Loechner. “ASR is inherently a dynamic product and Kevin has the skill-set needed to produce a show that will continue to meet and exceed our industry’s evolving needs.”
Flanagan brings to the ASR team extensive understanding of the action sports and youth lifestyle industry on an international scope. He joins ASR from Globe, where he served as vice president of marketing for Globe, Gallaz, Mooks, and Whyte House Productions (feature film and multimedia). Previously, Flanagan functioned as VP of marketing for Broadband Interactive Group (B.I.G.), producer of Bluetorch TV. Prior to Bluetorch, he served as director of international marketing and director of European marketing for Oakley, Inc.
Flanagan is a graduate of the University of Arizona holding a B.A. in business and public administration. He served as team captain for the University of Arizona basketball team and is an avid surfer.
Flanagan will officially begin in his new role May 13.
