Lay Day Called For O’Neill SI Pro Day Five

O’NEILL SI PRO PRESENTED BY RON JON
Sebastian Inlet, Florida
January 5-11, 2007

SEBASTIAN INLET, Florida (Tuesday, January 9th, 2007) — A lay day has been called for the O’Neill SI Pro presented by Ron Jon due to lack of swell.

Unfavorable conditions and 1′- 3′ Northeast windswell prompted event organizers of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) four-star event to call a lay day in hopes that the swell will fill in more tomorrow.

Surfline has forecast an increase in swell over the next two days and the O’Neill SI Pro will hope to complete competition in the improved conditions.

Competition will look to resume tomorrow morning at 8:00 am with the opening heat of the round of 64. The round of 64 will feature marquee surfers such as Gabe Kling (St. Augustine, FL), CJ Hobgood (Melbourne, FL), Patrick Gudauskas (San Clemente, CA), Dane Reynolds (Ventura, CA), among others.

Live scoring will be available at www.aspnorthamerica.org.
