Legendary waterman Dave Kalama visits Newport, old stomping grounds

Legendary waterman Dave Kalama, who helped develop tow-in surfing and who’s now an avid standup paddler, has a new travel series out on Vimeo. In the debut episode, Kalama pokes around Newport Harbor in California’s Newport Beach, and although he’s happy to see his old stomping grounds, he mostly talks about Fiji and how excited he is to go there for his next trip. As Orange County residents, we guess we can understand his enthusiasm. In fact, it’s safe to say we’re a bit jealous. For more on Kalama and updates on his series, be sure to check back with SUP the mag.
