Youth reigned supreme at the Kommunity Project Trials today at Snapper Rocks, Australia. The “Tahitian Terror” 16-year old, Tamaroa McComb, took out Dale Richards and Troy Brooks to land a spot in the Quiksilver Pro’s main event. His reward, a Round 1 heat against 2007 World Champion, Mick Fanning. The youngster’s not fazed though, and has kept his poker face on.
“I actually feel more relaxed competing against Mick (Fanning) than I would meeting a girl,? said McComb.
On the women’s side last year’s Roxy Pro runner-up, Carrissa Moore, is back at it again and in the main event. The 15-year old Hawaiian phenom is one of the scariest heat draws out there, girl or guy. Look for her to have a strong showing, and remind some of her older counterparts that aloha also means, “Goodbye!”
