You might think world champion Mick Fanning would be stressing a by now. After coming from way behind to claim his second ASP world title last year the lightning he’d successfully bottled last year has lost some of its fizz in 2010.
Four events into the new season Mick has slipped to number six in the new World Title Ranking due to his three 9th place finishes.
But if you’re wondering he’s worried…don’t.
Let’s not forget Fanning didn’t even get his groove on until this time last year. And while every season is different, and there are fresh faces entering the world title derby, something tells us Mick will be making an impact soon enough.
Rather than sulk after his early exit at Jeffreys Bay, Fanning didn’t sprint for home, or the Mentawais, but rather cruised down to explore the beauty of Cape Town with giant killer Sean Holmes playing tour guide. Then it was back to J-Bay for Mick who decided to absorb the lineup without the giant speakers and blaring horns.
