Smith Optics is pleased to announce that it has hired Mike Martin as the company’s western regional sales manager. Martin joins eastern regional sales manager Brian Cotsonas and central regional sales manager Linda Rodney in its recently restructured sales department. All three regional sales managers report to Smith’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Blair Clark. Martin will join Smith at the Outdoor Retailer (OR) Summer Market tradeshow, August 12-15, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Coming to Smith with more than seven years experience in sales in the action-sport market, Martin most recently worked as the national sales manager for Rip Curl International, overseeing 18 reps throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He also held the position of national sales manager for MCD, a division of Gotcha International, and prior was the general manager and buyer for Newport Ski Company for more than 18 years where he oversaw 80 employees and purchased hardgoods, sunglasses and accessories. Based in Huntington Beach, Calif. and managing Smith’s San Clemente office, Martin is a native Southern Californian who enjoys surfing, snowboarding and skiing.
