HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 30, 2010 – The finest American amateur surfers have congregated to South Huntington Beach Pier to compete in the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) Nationals in search of one of the nation's most highly regarded amateur surfing titles in each of their respective divisions. The NSSA National Championships began at Salt Creek and will conclude this year's event by crowning champions in all divisions by Saturday July 3rd, 2010 in Huntington Beach, California.
Starting tomorrow through the end of competition on Saturday, all of the action, scores and commentary will be webcast LIVE presented by Nike 6.0 at nssalive.com.
Tomorrow will kick off with Round 1 of Open Men's competition at 7 a.m. local time and will see East Coasters Evan Geiselman, 16, and Nick Rupp, 17, battle West Coasters Luke Davis, 17, Conner Coffin, 16, and Hawaiians including Ezekiel Lau, 16, and Keanu Asing, 17, as all athletes look to start their event off strong.
Following open men's competition will be Round 1 of Open Boys before capping the day off with Round 2 of Open Juniors competition.
