CHURCH’S SCORES A PERFECT 10! A potent WNW swell arrived right ontarget to kick up excellent 3-5 foot surf. Long, shreddable lined uprights peeled off of Church Beach point. Conditions were beautiful for the entire weekend withglassy conditions prevailing.

MORE HONORABLE MENTIONS:NSSA RECORD WATCH-11 DOWN, 10 TO GO. NSSA hot grom Cory Arrambideextended his streak and took his eleventh consecutive victory winningthe Menehuene final. Cory, who normally competes in the Gold CoastExplorer and Southwest Opens, traveled down to Church Beach to go foranother win. Cory is currently undefeated in Southwest Open and GoldCoast Explorer competition. He is going for the victory record, whichhas stood at 20 by Michael Taras in the 1997/98 season. Obviously, since the Gold Coast has a shorter event schedule than the Southwest,Cory must travel down to the Southwest Explorer if he has any chance ofbreaking the record.

Defending National Seniors Champion Chas Wickwire won his third straightin the Seniors division and is keeping his sights set on a perfectseason this year. Chas has not lost a heat in the Seniors division thisyear. Mike Klein, Travis Mellem, Chris Waring and John Silver claimedtheir first Explorer wins of the season.
