The On A Mission team scored big at the NSSA Nationals held at Lower Trestles June 25-July 1. Its top athlete of the contest was Anthony Petruso who won the Open Men’s title and took third in the Explorer Junior. Melanie Bartels won the Explorer women’s division and took second in the Open Women’s division. She’s the best kept secret in Hawaii.
Joel Centeio, one of OAM’s fastest rising stars placed second in the Open Men’s and second in the Explorer Juniors. With anthony moving to the proranks next year, prepare to see Joel winning the gold next year. Our last double finalist was none other than Holly Beck. Holly is always a dominating presence at the Nationals and this year was no exception. Holly placed third in the Open Womens division and took fourth in the Explorer Women’s division.
Other OAM team finalists include Dustin Cuizon placing second in the Explorer Boys division, Tom Dosland taking second in the Open Junior’s division, Kai Ellison placing fifth in the Menehune Explorer division, and fellow teammate Jensen Hassett following behind him in sixth.
On A Mission is proud of all of it’s finalists and all other team members that competed in the 2000 Nationals. The kids proved that we not only have the best professional team, but the best amateur team in the world.
