O’Neill’s “A Girl’s Surf Addiction” Premiere Set For July 28

O’NEILL USA TO PREMIER “A GIRL’S SURF ADDICTION ON JULY 28, 2004 AT THE U.S. OPEN OF SURFING

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. >> O’Neill USA, SG Magazine and Sky Rondenet films are premiering the all-new, all-girl surf film, “A GIRLS SURF ADDICTION on Wednesday, July 28 on the beach during the U.S. Open of Surfing. Starring professional surfers and Team O’Neill superstars Rochelle Ballard and Melanie Bartels surfing and having fun at world-class breaks around the world, the initial screening will be held on the “Vortex stage beginning at 3:00 p.m. and is open-to-the-public. A VIP after party will be held at Sutra Lounge in Newport Beach.

Filmed in Mexico, California, France, Hawaii, and Tahiti, “A Girl’s Surf Addiction showcases killer surfing, personal interviews and an insane soundtrack. The movie shows the other side of women’s surfing, the new talent that is driving the sport and how much fun the girls really have on the road! In addition to Bartels’ movie debut, special appearances are made by several of Rochelle and Melanie’s pro surfing friends including Megan Abubo, Chelsea Georgeson, Sofia Mulanovich, Keala Kennelly and others.

Captured in digital video and shot over an 18-month period, the 30-minute feature is family-oriented and appropriate for teenagers. The film will also show in select coastal cities throughout the month of August including San Luis Obispo, San Diego and Santa Cruz and at locations in Florida, New Jersey, Hawaii and Virginia Beach (details are available at www.oneill.com.). The worldwide premier of “A Girl’s Surf Addiction occurs during the Honda U.S. Open of Surfing Presented by O’Neill, held July 26 to August 1 at the famed Huntington Beach Pier.
