Quiksilver Announces Invitees To The 2002/03 Eddie Aikau

Huntington Beach Quiksilver’s announced its list of invitees to their annual contest held in memory of the legendary Eddie Aikau at Waimea Bay. The Eddie is set to kick off sometime during the waiting period of December 5, 2002 to February 28, 2003, during which time the 24 invitees and the same number of alternates will be on call for the right twenty-foot-plus swell to thunder through the Bay. The list of invitees includes past Eddie winners Clyde Aikau (Eddie’s brother), Keone Downing, Noah Johnson, Ross Clarke-Jones, and Kelly Slater, as well as first-timers Andy and Bruce Irons.—J.P.
