Keramas, only a few years ago a relatively secret spot on the surfing mecca of Bali, is now revered as a favorite of professional surfers the world over and now one of the most documented waves in the world with footage and photographs continually appearing in both core and mainstream media.
Located on Bali’s east coast, it is no coincidence the wave has gained such a reputation with a perfect combination of dredging barrels and a heaving inside section to produce some of the highest performance surfing seen in recent years including Quiksilver team rider Wayan ‘Betet’ Merta’s signature air reverse.
After two highly successful years, the Quiksilver Open Keramas presented by Jim Beam is now an eagerly anticipated opener and the premier event on the rapidly developing Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) calendar. Reinforcing their strong association with surfing in the Asia Pacific region, Jim Beam are proud to announce their support to the further development of surfing in Indonesia as presenting sponsor of this years event.

Held over a 10-day window to allow for the optimum conditions, the Quiksilver Open Keramas presented by Jim Beam will showcase some of the most progressive surfing in the world on the punchy righthander. This year will also see the hosting of the Roxy Open Keramas 2008 and a masters division for the men’s event; both of which are expected to be hotly contested by an international field and some of the pioneers of Indoneisan professional surfing respectively.
