5’11” x 19” x 2 3/8” Fred Rubble
This is my everyday board. I love it. I was on a trip to Russia, and the boards were on the roof, and this tree branch caught the nose and snapped it. Sometimes I put four fins in, and it works insane in barrels. Or as a thruster I’ll surf it at Trestles, and it goes incredible. It’s really versatile.
5’7” x 18 3/4” x 2 3/8” Orange Deck
5’8” x 19 3/4” x 2 3/8” New Flyer
This a New Flyer, which is a new model we’re working on. The original Flyer was this universal board for small waves. This one is modified a bit; it’s smaller. It’s incredible. I ride it any day that’s under shoulder high. It gives you tons of speed and makes those days where you might not even go out super fun—you almost feel guilty.
7’4” x 19” x 2 3/4” Gun
I surfed this during the big Fiji swell, but also have ridden in at Sunset Beach and Pipe. I’ve never had a gun that’s so versatile. I’m super attached to it. It’s an MG11, I think. During that Cloudbreak swell, I broke my 8’6” on my first wave. Me and Patrick were going to share that board, and all we had left was a 7’4” and a 6’7”. Pat rode the 7’4” in the morning and got a few sweet ones. And then we traded for the afternoon. He took that crazy drop on the 6’7”. I got a wide one and had to make a quick adjustment to get under the lip, and the thing held. I came out, and that was the best barrel of my life.
We just make these space sounds—laser beams and stuff. It’s space math rock with dinosaurs. It’s insane.
We travel with this to keep the vibe on the road. Maybe make some beer money on the streets.
